Role Overview
As a Detailer at Simple Details, you will deliver exceptional automotive care on some of the most sought-after vehicles on the road. This role is open to candidates at every stage of their career — from those just entering the trade looking to learn from the best, to experienced technicians who bring advanced skills in paint correction and protective coating application.

Core Responsibilities
Vehicle Care and Preparation
- Perform thorough vehicle washing, decontamination, and surface preparation to the standard required for all work that follows.
- Execute interior and exterior detailing services with meticulous attention to every surface, panel, and component.
- Conduct a pre-service vehicle inspection and document any pre-existing condition before work begins.
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment and adhere to all safety protocols at all times.
Paint and Surface Correction (experienced applicants)
- Assess paint condition and identify the appropriate corrective approach for each vehicle based on its specific needs.
- Perform paint correction and surface enhancement services ranging from single-stage refinement to advanced multi-stage correction on vehicles requiring a higher level of technical precision.
- Work with professional-grade compounds, polishes, and equipment to achieve consistent, measurable results.
Protective Coating Application (experienced applicants)
- Apply ceramic coatings and protective treatments with precision, following all product-specific protocols and company SOPs.
- Prepare surfaces to the exacting standard required for coating adhesion and long-term performance.
- Execute coating applications ranging from standard single-layer treatments to advanced multi-layer systems requiring elevated technical skill.
Quality and Accountability
- Conduct thorough self-inspections of all completed work before any vehicle is cleared for final quality review or client delivery.
- Follow all company SOPs precisely to maintain quality consistency across every job.
- Collaborate with the PPF, coating, and client experience teams to support smooth job flow and on-time vehicle delivery.
Requirements
No prior professional experience is required to be considered for this role. If you are new to the trade, we will teach you. What sets our top performers apart isn't where they started — it's the work ethic, attention to detail, and drive they brought with them on day one.
- A genuine attention to detail and commitment to quality — at every level, this is non-negotiable.
- Willingness to learn, take direction, and grow within a structured team environment.
- Familiarity with detailing tools and chemicals is a plus but not required for entry-level consideration.
- Candidates with experience in paint correction and ceramic coating application are strongly encouraged to apply and will be considered for advanced placement.
- Physically able to stand for extended periods, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record — you will be operating client vehicles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Willingness and availability to work full-time, on-site in Virginia Beach, VA.
